Who Is DJ PlaZma?
DJ PlaZma is, quite simply, a child of the 80s.
- Born in the 60s
- Raised in the 70s
- BECAME in the 80s
A child of the 80s who firmly believes that the best
decade of music - ever - was the 80s.
As 80s DJs go, most play the same stuff you heard on Top
40 radio, often accompanied by the well known voice of Kasey Kasem.
Then there are other 80s DJs whose knowledge of the 80s is limited to
Hair Bands. Then there are those 80s DJs who never left the
club, tuning in to Dance and Disco until, well, their brains burst.
You'll most often find these kinds of DJs sitting bars, alone, wondering why
their mullets get snickers from passers-by instead of High-Fives.
Not DJ PlaZma.
DJ PlaZma plays virtually all aspects of 80s music.
You'll hear your Huey Lewis and the News and Michael Jackson...Blondie and Heart...Bob Seger and Tom Petty...Lionel Richie
and Taylor Dayne...Depeche Mode and The Cure...Pet Shop Boys and OMD.
But what you'll also hear is the stuff that Todd*
didn't listen to on his AM/FM Walkman. Stuff like Hipsway, the
Plimsouls, Haircut 100, C.C.C.P, A Flock Of Seagulls...and a number of bands
that You (or Todd*) had probably never even
heard of before. We're talking obscure, off-the-chart 80s.
So, since there's SO MUCH music, how does he do it?
By playing less of the ordinary, Todd*
stuff.
By playing more of the stuff that, if you had any sense at all, were
probably supposed to listen to, but didn't.
By playing Maxi-tracks. Maxi-Tracks are a DJ PlaZma Specialty
consisting of alternate and extended mixes.

parachute pants and Chams shirts and sported a Richard Marx mullet, walking
